Our Holistic Curriculum
Emergent
An emergent curriculum encourages natural teachable moments, leading to positive, permanent brain connections and successful learning.
At Gifted Minds HLA, we observe and document the interactions, discussions and fascinations of children. By developing learning opportunities from these observations, our curriculum "emerges" from children's interests and ideas.
Atelier (Art Studio)
The word Atelier means art studio or workshop in French. It is a welcoming and inspiring place where a wide variety of natural and man made materials are visually available to explore. Our Atelier is where children come individually or in small groups to encounter experiences with different media that will progressively support all their languages of expression.
Sign Language
Teaching ASL (American Sign Language) helps children become more engaged in learning. Signing involves physical movement, which adds a kinesthetic element to learning. This physical movement engages children's bodies as well as their brains, giving them a more intensive and multi-sensory learning experience.
